A Journey to Love and Empowerment
I grew up feeling I was never good enough, was unworthy of love, and that I couldn’t do anything right. These feelings formed into beliefs as I grew older and I found myself continuously searching for love in all the wrong places or settling in toxic relationships.
Though I smashed it with my career and community, I was suffering on the inside; thinking I would never find “the one.”
Despite my external success, I often felt lonely and disconnected, trapped by an underlying belief of unworthiness. This belief led me to throw myself into relationships, ignoring the red flags, hoping that someone else’s love would finally make me feel whole. The problem was, these relationships rarely brought the love I was seeking. Instead, I was left feeling more empty and worthless than before.
I now realise that these old beliefs and the painful pattern of entering toxic relationships were rooted in a childhood shaped by abandonment, narcissism, and “tough love.” Overcoming these behaviours became possible when I began my journey of self-love. I discovered that the love I had been seeking outside myself was already within me. I didn’t need to chase validation or approval from others—I needed to become my own source of love.
A Wake-Up Call
My childhood memories of never being good enough or worthy of love kept surfacing without me even realising. They ruled my life until I woke up.
One night when walking home from the train station, my eyes glued to my mobile, I walked straight into a pole. The impact was so significant, it jolted me out of living a life on auto-pilot and immediately erupted a boulder-size bump on my forehead!
It was when I arrived home and looked in the mirror, that I saw the dissatisfaction in my eyes as I wiped the dry blood from my forehead.
This evening marked the beginning of my self-development journey—a path towards healing, self-discovery, and a profound understanding of the transformative power of self-love. After wiping away the blood, I asked myself – what can I do to create a life I love?
The answer I received was: meditate.
So I did and I haven’t stopped. This first action of growth and healing changed my life and led me on a path of self-love and discovery. I soon delved into the law of attraction teachings, began using affirmations, and found the profound healing of Louise Hay’s Mirror Work along with Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT Tapping) and breathwork. All these methods and practices boosted my confidence, helped me dig deep into my subconscious beliefs and finally start to silence my inner critic and become my best friend.

Transformation Through Love
As my journey continued, I reached a plateau and longed for new ways to cultivate love in my life. That’s when I decided to create my own tools and developed the Full-On Love Challenge. For 31 days, I committed to performing ten acts of love each day. These “Love Actions” greatly increased my self-love, enhanced my love for others, and deepened my awareness and connection to love.
This challenge transformed my life, became the foundation for my book, Living in Love: How to Create a Lifestyle of Love, Faith, Bliss, and Crazy-Ass Manifesting (All in Thirty-One Days), and propelled my self-love journey to new heights. By consciously choosing to engage in loving acts throughout my day, I became a different person. I stopped chasing love and allowed it to blossom within me. I felt whole, connected, and experienced a deep love for myself that no one could take away. My heart was open, and the craving for external validation was gone. I gained unwavering confidence and self-worth.
I did face a setback with my next partner, but it was simply another life lesson. Had I truly stopped seeking external validation, or was I still looking for someone else to complete me? Fortunately, this was the final lesson I needed. Armed with the tools I had created during my Full-On Love Challenge, I quickly bounced back stronger than before and made a vow to myself: I will not give my heart away again—I will share it instead. That way, it is always whole, always mine, and always full of love.
Fast forward less than a year, and I met the partner of my dreams. This shift happened because I finally did stop looking outside myself for love and truly embraced the love I already had within me. I found peace, joy, and radical self-acceptance. This is why I believe self-love is the foundation for everything, but it’s an ongoing journey. It is the most important love we can give ourselves—and it’s where our journey must begin.
Becoming a Self-Love Coach
This profound transformation brought on by learning the power of self-love and putting love into action, inspired me to become a self-love coach. Now, I help other women like me who want to stop settling or searching for “the one,” and instead BECOME THE ONE.
The one who loves herself fully, radiates confidence and self-worth, and no longer accepts anything less than she deserves. This is why I created my signature coaching, Stop Settling, Start Thriving: The Love-Me First Method, 16 weeks to love yourself fiercely, own your worth, and say goodbye to toxic relationships for good.
