A Journey to Love and Empowerment
I grew up feeling I was never good enough, was unworthy of love, and that I couldn’t do anything right. These feelings formed into beliefs as I grew older and I found myself continuously trying to do better so I could prove myself wrong.
Though I smashed it with my career and community, I was failing miserably with romance and abundance.
Despite my achievements, I couldn’t silence my inner critic nor my persistence to keep “improving,” leading to burnout and stress. I was stuck in a perpetual loop of putting pressure on myself to accomplish something, beating myself up if I didn’t do it fast or good enough, then glazing over my accomplishment in my head when I did complete it.
Now, I realise this behaviour stemmed from childhood where my achievements were rarely celebrated and often met with, “you could have done better.” This resulted in me continuously trying to improve and seek the validation I never received growing up. It was only after finding self-love that I learnt all the validation I need comes from within.
A Wake-Up Call
My childhood memories of never being good enough kept surfacing without me even realising. They ruled my life until I woke up.
One night when walking home from the train station, my eyes glued to my mobile, I walked straight into a pole. The impact was so significant, it jolted me out of living a life on auto-pilot and immediately erupted a boulder-size bump on my forehead!
It was when I arrived home and looked in the mirror, that I saw the dissatisfaction in my eyes as I wiped the dry blood from my forehead.
This evening marked the beginning of my self-development journey—a path towards healing, self-discovery, and a profound understanding of the transformative power of self-love. After wiping away the blood, I asked myself – what can I do to create a life I love?
The answer I received was: meditate.
So I did and I haven’t stopped. This first action of growth and healing changed my life and led me on a path of discovery and self-love. I soon delved into the law of attraction teachings, began using affirmations, and found the profound healing of Louise Hay’s Mirror Work along with Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT Tapping) and breathwork. All these methods and practices boosted my confidence, helped me dig deep into my subconscious beliefs and finally start to silence my inner critic and become my best friend.
Transformation Through Love
As my journey continued I reached a plateau and craved new ways to generate love in my life. It was then I decided to create my own tools and came up with a challenge called the Full-On Love Challenge. In this challenge I performed ten acts of love per day for 31 days. The “Love Actions” I did greatly increased my self-love, love towards others, and raised my awareness and feelings of love.
This challenge changed my life and skyrocketed my self-love journey. After immersing myself in so much love by doing loving things consciously throughout my days, I have become a different person. I no longer burn out and become stressed reaching for my next achievement.
I still have goals, but now I trust in divine timing and set my goals with love, and gracefully allow the path to unfold, listening to my intuition and taking inspired action. I feel whole, complete, worthy, and know damn-well that I am loveable – because I love me and that is the most important love out there.
These profound changes happened in my life because I finally recognised the power of self-love and putting love into action. With loving myself, I released the need for external validation and learned to set goals with grace and trust.
I now live a fulfilling life by the sea, have authored a book, “Living in Love: How to Create a Lifestyle of Love, Faith, Bliss, and Crazy-Ass Manifesting (All in Thirty-One Days),” and experience peace, bliss, and increased abundance.
Becoming a Self-Love Coach
This profound transformation brought on by learning the power of self-love and putting love into action, inspired me to become a self-love coach. Now, I help other women like me who want to stop the overwhelm and internal pressure they place on themselves to do better.
I help silence the inner critic and guide them on a profound journey to self-love, empowerment, and becoming their best friend. This is why I created my signature 16-week programme, “The High-Achiever’s Path to Unshakeable Self-Love.”
